Based in Cornwall, our style of fast-paced, comic theatre has delighted audiences of all ages, and over the past few years we have developed a reputation for creating original and entertaining productions. With a young group of enthusiastic and talented actors, writers, musicians and technicians, our intention is to bring our unique style of "rock and roll drama" to more audiences across the South-West.
It's not your usual or conventional theatre, it's Near-ta Theatre.

Ho ho ho! Near-ta Theatre are back for their Twelfth Night at The Poly, with a brand new Christmas comedy that puts the ‘cell’ back in celebration!
Charlie and Toby are feeling low, and why wouldn’t they? It’s Christmas Day and they’re serving time at Her Majesty’s pleasure. But why shouldn’t they be having a Merry Christmas in spite of their current situation? What’s stopping them from creating Christmas around them? ‘Christmas. Time.’ sees two men trying to celebrate the festive season with whatever they have at their disposal, and tells a wonderful and merry story of carols, Christ and custody.
A musical comedy for all ages, commissioned by The Poly and written by Daniel Richards, Ciaran Clarke and Rosemary McKenna, ‘Christmas. Time.’ promises to be a festive and fun offering for the Christmas season from Near-ta Theatre.
